BATTERY IN YOUR LEG: Introducing Trim the Barber

A big thanks to the BATTERY IN YOUR LEG blog for featuring us in their new bands section.
Read their post from 28th June here:

Here's what they said:

"I often feel guilty about not having enough hours in the day to spend listening to new artists. It’s not even a fear that I may miss the next big thing, more that a gem like these guys might pass me by. As with all my introducing posts, I have left it to the band to give you the low down in their own words:

‘Trim the Barber are London based psychedelic-post-punk-shoegazers. A haunting combination of the melancholic style of The Cure, the spiky post-punk snarl of Wire and the considered sonic attitude of My Bloody Valentine. Lush musical euphoria with a directness of delivery.
Formed from a sense of despair at the alienation and devolution of modern life, Trim the Barber’s music features conscious lyrical themes of despondency and frustration with an existence in a decaying post-Millennial Britain.

Since the free download release of ‘All We Can Be’, the band have been recording material for a forthcoming debut EP, set to be released this autumn and will be playing pre-release gigs towards the end of summer.
Having listened to several of the band’s tracks, I kind of concur with everything they have written above. A visit to the band’s Facebook page will lead you to ‘Free Falling’, a real standout track!"

Our compadre and ex band mate Andrew Shields has just entered the blogosphere with some autobiographical words and impressive abstract montage photography featuring some familiar faces...

Get some crack tango up ya!

Our guitarist and in-house production wizard Patrick Banks has recorded another great band as part of his music production duo Sound You Can See who have previously recorded the likes of The Dissociates, Girl From The CastleAstrid Madberg and of course us!

Hermot are not your average band, you probably won't even know what the charismatic front man Sami is going on about in his native tounge, but does that even matter? No.
So go ahead and listen to some traditional folk songs with a Finnish crack tango twist. Here's the Menee EP:

MUSIC LIBERATION Review

Thanks to MUSIC LIBERATION for featuring us in the new music section of their blog.
Read their post from 22nd June introducing us and "All We Can Be" here:

Here's what they said:

"London based Trim The Barber describe themselves as 'wailing fuzztone pyschedelic post-punk shoegazers'. Fancy huh? Fortunately they do actually fit the bill.

'All We Can Be', which is available now, is a dark, swirling, gloriously understated pop song which is orchestrated by a ghostly guitar and some rather gloomy yet oddly uplifting vocals from Matt Potter.

It's a tantalising opener which bodes well for the Autumn release of their forthcoming as yet untitled debut EP. Look out for the band playing gigs in and around that time too."

The Death of Myspace = THIS New Blog.

Due to the inevitable mass migration of Myspace we've decided to start a new blog to keep you up to speed with anything that is Trim the Barber.

Everything that Myspace offers is available in a better form by someone else, and all that was left with any use to us were the event listings and the blog, so this will now be the best place to find out about gigs and news. Brace yourselves for a new stream of gubble coming your way. You can 'follow by email' from the panel on the right, you'll get an email every time we post something new.

To view the blog we've just left behind so we can pick up where we left off:

In the meantime check out the Audio and Video sections of this site and hold tight for gigs... Thanks.
