"A glorious, shambling, noise-shimmer surge. Authentically classic yet wholly modern. [5.5/6]"
(Zero Tolerance)

"Like The Jesus and Mary Chain forcibly inserting a Cry Baby into Wire's orifice"
(Total Guitar)

"Their anger-fuelled, effects laden outpourings ably channel the sense of despair felt by many in these strange, unsettling times"
(The Hackney Citizen)

“It's essential listening for those who require their music a little darker and can appreciate ideas that sometimes take you out of your comfort zone”
(Music Liberation)

The idea for Trim the Barber was conceived by two members over 10 years before becoming a reality. Finally forming in London as a collective with a DIY ethos, and now a 3-piece, the group have been playing explosively loud and chaotic audio-visual shows melting the faces of audience members with a wall of glorious sound. A cacophony of texturally rich and dark post punk, lurking somewhere between early Cure, Spacemen 3 and A Place To Bury Strangers.

Featuring two lead singers, melodic but bleakly ethereal vocal lines combine with an unforgiving barrage of effects and arrive on a searing wave of audio intensity. The lush musical euphoria of shoegaze meeting the cold atmosphere of minimalist post punk.

In Apr '12 their self recorded debut EP was released to the approval of Total Guitar, Zero Tolerance, The Hackney Citizen, TNT, as well as BBC 6 Music, NME Radio, XFM, Q Radio, and Amazing Radio, where the follow-up single ‘Mindblank’ was ‘track of the week’ when released in Mar '13.

More great reviews from Sexbeat, Mojophenia, Zeitgeist Magazine, Sound of Confusion, Handclap Movement amongst others followed. Shows with Widowspeak, Dead Confederate, Gringo Star, The Hickey Underworld, Lola Colt and The Telescopes being highlights live.

In search of their own studio, in Nov '13 Trim the Barber made Berlin their home, and have been making the most of being able to take their time in their new 24hr noise factory. Expect announcements of shows in Germany in early 2014, and an imminent new release to be recorded in the bitterly cold Berlin winter.
